Young doctors are seen protesting against DC Badin

Report  Tanweer Ahmed Arain : BADIN: The meeting called for review the arrangements of the upcoming polio campaign of district Badin turned in chaos after the fierce interrogation of DC Badin from the doctors for un-vaccinated 11 children of UC Badin-II. DC Badin made responsible DHO Badin of the deficiency and wrote against the DHO to the Chief Secretary and Secretary health for appropriate action. Doctors has boycotted the meetings in the lead of DHO, Dr. Hemraj Rathi and protested against the alleged ill attitude of the DC Badin towards doctors. While protesting and holding press conference at Badin press club on Monday doctors including doctor Sharif Chandio, Dr. Zahoor Abbasi, Dr. Gulab Kashmiri, Dr. Hafiz Samoon, Ghulam Hussain Soomro and others alleged that DC Badin has not facilitated the doctors to combat the polio virus adding they said that some refusal cases can be un-vaccinated, it was no big issue because it can be covered catch up round of polio. Doctors while protesting here, alleged DC for his ill language used against the doctors and termed such act as against the rules and principles of WHO adding they announced to boycott the upcoming campaign of polio vaccination and OPD of the Govt hospitals till transfer the DC Badin. Other hand while talking to OIN, representative of DC Badin, Shoukat Hussain Jokhio said that third party was engaged to evaluate the Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) vaccination adding he added “randomly four union councils were selected for Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) by third party and more than 60 children were investigated among eleven children were found un-vaccinated”. Moreover he said, district administration was received expensive IPV from WHO by tireless efforts but doctors failed to full coverage of the children through vaccination. When he asked the doctors for the failure causes and facts of the IPV in urban UCs of Badin, doctors have boycotted the meeting in the lead of DHO. Adding he said a letter has been written to Chief Secretary and Secretary Health stating “Due the poor performance of the doctors, district administration Badin could not run the polio campaign in the district and demanded immediate transfer of DHO and provision of the active team”. 02
