12,000 people cross over to Afghanistan at Torkham
Report Web desk : Around twelve thousand Afghan nationals crossed over to Afghanistan while 500 Pakistan returned to their homes from the neighbouring country amid tight security on the first day after reopening of Torkham border gate by Pakistan. On Tuesday, thousands of people flocked to border crossings at Torkham and Chaman as Pakistani authorities temporarily reopened the border with Afghanistan after 18 days. The Torkham and Chaman border crossings were reopened only for two days to allow Afghan and Pakistani nationals stranded on both sides to return to their home countries. Pak-Afghan border at two points was closed 18 days back due to terrorist attacks in the country.
