Report  Web desk : NEW YORK: Whatsapp has reverted to its text status feature. A few weeks ago, the instant messaging app had launched a Snapchat-like stories update which has now been taken down. The withdraw happened after Whatsapp faced a backlash from its users Most people agreed that the app was copying its competitor prime feature. Whatsapp users demanded the company to revert to the usual text status function. Whatsapp has given a policy statement in this regard. It stated, “We learned from users that they missed the ability to set a persistent text-only update in their profile, so we’ve integrated this feature into the ‘About’ section in profile settings. Now, the update will appear next to profile names anytime you view contacts, such as when creating a new chat or looking at Group info. We are continuing to build on a new status feature which gives people engaging ways to post photos, videos and GIFs with friends as well as family throughout their day.” The app is all set to launch new features, according to the statement. It includes a new status feature by which users can share photos, GIFs and videos with their family and friends from day to day. 02
