FIA summons Irfan, Nasir, Sharjeel and Khalid in PSL fixing case

Report  Web desk : ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned four cricketers facing charges of spot-fixing in the Pakistan Super League. The agency has started investigation into the infamous spot-fixing scandal on the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhy Nisar Ali Khan. The FIA has issued notices to the players; Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Nasir Jamshed and Muhammad Irfan, and asked them to record statement on March 20 and 21. Officials sources said that the action was being taken on the request of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Nisar during his yesterday’s press conference said that the post fixing was not a problem of few players of PCB rather it was an issues of Pakistan image and pride. He further said that PCB can only ban players if fixing charges were proved against the players, adding that it cannot send the guilty behind the bars. The players proved guilty in FIA investigation will have to go to prison, Nisar said.(01)
