HEC notification ending 2 year degree programs

Report  Web desk : ISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has decided to abolish 2 year BA/BSc and MA/MSc degree programs from 2018 and 2020 respectively. HEC has made policy that all government and private institutions will offer 4 year Graduation and Masters degree programs. The decision has been taken to bring an improvement in quality of education in Pakistan. Higher Education Commission Announced 2 years BA BSC/ MA MSc Degree programs Policy 2017. Higher Education Commission Announced that there will be no more 2 years BA BSc Programs will be held in Universities or Affiliated Colleges. Higher Education Commission Also Announced that there will be no more 2 years MA Msc Programs will be held in Universities or Affiliated Colleges. For BA BSC this policy will be applied from 2018. For MA MSc this policy will be applied from 2020. The Students who are studying according to these programs are not at risk. They can complete their studies. But the studetns who will start BA BSc from 2018 and the students who will start MA Msc in 2020 will be not recognized by Higher Education Commission and there degrees will not be legal. So What they will Do? Higher Education Commission Announced that from 2018 there will be no 2 years BA, Bsc but there will be BS (Hons) that is of 4 Years and Equal to Masters. So For those who have done 2 years BA, Bsc must earn MA, Msc before 2020. 02
