Residents of Badin are seen protesting against prolonged load-shedding

Report  Tanweer Ahmed Arain : BADIN: Dozens of the citizens of Badin town hailing from Mehran Chowk, Shehbaz colony and other areas staged protest demanding immediate replacement of their burnt electricity transformers and soon restoration of the electricity in the areas. The protesters staged a stern protest at Mehran Chowk Badin against the WAPDA authorities led by elected counselors including Shahid Khan Afridi, Wahid Bux Chandio, Muhammad Nadeem Mughal, Sulleman Mallah, Mukhtiar Bhurgari, Jan Muhammad Panwhar and others. While protesting, they also set ablaze the tyres on the main road of Mehran chowk Badin town and blocked the roads for several hours consequently traffic has been jammed and created the difficulties to the travelers. Other hand, while talking with media leading representatives of the demonstrators said that prolonged load-shedding of more than 15 hours is being held in the city that has turned the lives of the residents as miserable and paralyzed. Adding they termed the delay of the replacement of burnt electricity transformers as cruelty and injustice with the people of Badin. They alleged that WAPDA authorities are demanding hundreds of the rupees in the name of repair work of the transformers of their areas. Meanwhile, Badin police officers by the assurance of the restoration of the electricity soon and immediate replacement of the burnt transformers motivated the protesters in concluding their long protest. 02
