Report  Ali Murad Chandio : JAMSHORO: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between University of Sindh, Jamshoro and Sindh Endowment Trust for preservation of antiquated pre-partition treasure comprising newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, maps, books and other such historically important print material cataloged at the research library of the Institute of Sindhology in the varsity. Sindh Endowment Trust is a project of Government of Sindh working with an initial funding of 100 million rupees for preservation and promotion of culture, tradition, folklore, fine arts, archeology, civilization and archives of Sindh. Sindh Endowment Trust will be imparting to University of Sindh a funding of rupees 10 million to preserve pre-partition rare manuscripts, books, magazines, newspapers, maps and other such important print stuff. Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat, VC-SU and Abdul Hameed Akhund, Secretary SET represented each side in signing the MoU. Sindh Endowment Trust is managed by a group of reputed, conscientious and well wishing individuals of Sindh that include among others renowned educationist Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui and cultural ambassador of Sindh Abdul Hameed Akhund. Prof. Dr. Sarfaraz Hussain Solangi, Advocate Jhamat Mal Jethanand, Dr. Ishaq Samejo, Director, Institute of Sindhology, eminent archaeology researcher Ishtiaque Ansari, Dr. Hakim Ali Mahesar and Dr. Fida Hussain Chandio were also present on the occasion. 02
