17 lecturers appointed assistant professors at UoS

Report  Ali Murad Chandio : JAMSHORO: 17 lecturers of University of Sindh were appointed as ad hoc Assistant Professors on account of their having earned a PhD degree from here and abroad. The said appointment orders were distributed among the concern faculty on Friday at Senate Hall of the vice-chancellor secretariat of the varsity. In a simple yet graceful ceremony, Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burftat gave away the orders, remarking that the genuine faced by faculty had been and would always remain his central point of attention. He said faculty was synonymous to the varsity itself and if the faculty were to remain in any discomfort meant that the university too was not doing well. “I congratulate all young faculty upon their glaring elevation as Assistant Professors on account of their rightful merit; and expect from all of them to give the university their best”, he urged. Those who got elevated appointments included from Institute of Physics Dr. Waseem Ahmed Bhutto and Dr. Abdul Majid Soomro (PhD from China), from Department of Microbiology Dr. Abdul Nabi Mirjat (PhD from China), from Institute of Mathematics & Computer Sciences Dr. Aftab Ahmed Chandio and Dr. Zubair Ahmed Kalhoro (PhD from China), from Institute of English Language and Literature Dr. Abdul Hameed Panhwar (PhD from UK), from Laar Campus Badin Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Baloch (PhD from UK), from Department of Science and Technical Education Dr. Muhammad Saleem Chang (PhD from China), from Department of Pharmacy Dr. Muhammad Akram Khatri and Dr. Ahmed Ali Syed (PhD from South Korea), from Department of Physiology Dr. Jamshed Warsi (PhD from Germany), from Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq (PhD from SU), from Institute of Plant Sciences Dr. Samina Khanzada (PhD from SU), from Department of Sindhi Dr. Shazia Pitafi (PhD from KU), from Department of Urdu Dr. Shizra Shar (PhD from KU) and from Department of Curriculum Development & Special Education Dr. Shakeela Shah (PhD from Malaysia). The case of those ad hoc appointees would be submitted to the Syndicate of the university after the laps of 6 months period for consideration of confirmation. Sindh University Teachers Association (SUTA) president Dr. Azhar Ali Shah and General Secretary Dr. Arfana Begum Mallah were also present during the orders distribution ceremony. 02
