Huge arsenal of weapons seized in Kurram agency operation: ISPR

Report  Web desk : RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Sunday conducted different intelligence-based operations and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Orakzai and Kurram Agency. According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the raid was conducted in Kalaya, Orakzai Agency and recovered material including rockets, prepared IEDs, explosives, grenades, mortar bombs, different types of weapons and communication equipment. A hideout of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) established in underground tunnels was also destroyed in Kalaya. A separate operation was conducted in Parachinar, Kurram Agency where Frontier Constabulary and intelligence agencies recovered a large amount of arms and ammunition. They recovered items include rockets, IEDs, grenade, mines, mortar, explosives different types of weapons and communication equipment. ISPR claimed that the recovery of such huge cache indicates the plotting of a major terrorist attack which has been averted. (01)
