China-made Orange line train arrives at Lahore

Report  Web desk : LAHORE: First China-made Orange Line Metro Train rolled off production line and arrived in Pakistan, with 26 more to be delivered by the end of the year. The train is first of 27 trains produced for Orange Line Metro Train project in Lahore and is designed and produced by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co in central China’s Hunan province, has five coaches and an energy-saving air-conditioning system suitable for the constant high summer temperature. Orange Line Train’s design combines the national flower of Pakistan – Jasmine – and the shape of the dome of the Badshahi Mosque located in Lahore, while the train is designed for 25.58 km long Orange Line track in Punjab capital city and the maximum operational speed of the train is expected to be around 80km per hour. It is expected to be delivered to the government of Punjab by July this year, with another 26 to arrive by the end of 2017. Lahore’s Orange Line metro project involves the construction of a 27.1km line, including 25.4km elevated and 1.72km underground, with 24 elevated stations, two underground stations, and depots. 02
