Citizens hold protest rally over elected representatives in Shikarpur

Report  Web desk : A large number citizen and civil society took out a rally, which was started from Lakhi Dar, which marched through various routes culminated at Lakhi Dar, where absentia prayer of elected representatives and Shikarpur administration offered against drainage water, which always inundated all the streets and roads, lack of arrangements for sanitation, dilapidated condition of the roads and hanged effigies of elected representatives to death at Lakhi Dar Clock Tower, here on Sunday. The rally was led by the leader of Shahari Itehad, Mir Aslam Mangi, Chairman Media Council Gul Memon, National Peoples Party (NPP) leader Maqsood Mirani and human right activist Naveed Alam Abro. Addressing on the occasion, leaders strongly condemned the criminal negligence of elected representatives and North Sindh Urban Services Corporation (NSUSC) Shikarpur and demanded of the high up to take notice of the issue and play their role into the matter otherwise agitation would be started across Sindh for larger interests of the people of Shikarpur district. It should be mentioned here that, Ali Asghar Pahore, the chairman Shikarpur Bachayo Tehreek has also filed a petition against NSUSC management Shikarpur, Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur and Chairman Municipal Committee Shikarpur for their negligence in District and Sessions Court Shikarpur while honorable court has issued notices to concerned parties to submit their reply on 9th January of this month, accordingly. Protesters were chanted slogans against NSUSC and district administration, on the occasion.
