10 more succumb to covid in Pakistan, 5,034 cases reported in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 18, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has mounted 1,333,521 on Tuesday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 5,034 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 9.45 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 505,930 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 454,372, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 182,419, in Balochistan 33,729 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 111,855, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,446 while 34,770 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 29,029 deaths so far, after 10 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,091 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,703 in Sindh, 5,963 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 187 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 969 deaths and AJK recorded 749 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 24,239,761, corona tests and 53,253 in last 24 hours and 1,264,611 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 472,527 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 431,044 in Punjab, 175,457 in KP, 33,729 in Balochistan, 108,106 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,243 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,950 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 827 patients are in critical condition.
