Students of CEAD participating in Zonal Skill Competition

Report  Ali Murad Chandio : Jamshoro: The Centre of Excellence in Art and Design (CEAD), Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro organized Zonal Skill Competition in collaboration with National Vocational Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). More than 100 students from 30 various institutes and training Centers of Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Dadu, Mithi, Khairpur Natahn Shah, Mehar, Jhudo, Hala, Matiari, Digri, Gambat and Umarkot participated in competitions like Beautician, Fashion Design and Dress Making, General Electrician, Autocad, Masson/ Tile Fixer and Graphics Designing. 1st position holders of various trades were awarded cash money amounting Rs. 25000/-, 2nd position holders were given Rs. 20000/- each and 3rd position holders were awarded amounting Rs. 15000/- per head. While addressing the youth Director General NAVTTC Sindh Abdul Raheem Shaikh said that there is less number of such institutes in Pakistan which try to uplift the abilities and skills of youth but NAVTTC has brought the dream come true. He said that NAVTTC started this journey by training 25000 unemployeed youth but in 4th phase one lac students will be trained. Abdul Raheem Shaikh, further said that it is honor for CEAD that such skilled development programme has been organized fourth time to explore youth talent. Focal Person NAVTTC, CEAD Prof. Fazal Illahi Khan said that the institute will keep encouraging the youngsters to get empowered in different fields to get respect in the society and earn a respectable amount of money to run their families. He said that we will keep continue encouraging the youth of deprived areas who could not be able to reach at higher educational institutes due to unavoidable reasons. Director NAVTTC Islamabad Naeem Iqbal and Deputy Director NAVTTC Sindh Azizullah Chandio also addressed the ceremony. 02
