Commissioner Sukkur in meeting regarding Aashura

Report  Bisma Waseem : Sukkur: Commissioner Sukkur Division Muhammad Abbas Baloch has presided over a meeting in the committee room of his office on Tuesday in connection with review of arrangements in Muharram-Ul-Haram. According to detail, the meeting was attended by Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) Chief Executive Officer Abdul Latif Anjum, Superintending Engineer Operation Circle Sukkur, Executive Engineers, Operation Divisions Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki as well Deputy Commissioners Khairpur Muhammad Nawaz Sohu, Deputy Commissioner Ghotki Syed Aijaz Ali Shah and other concerned officials. Commissioner Sukkur while addressing the meeting has directed for avoiding observance of power load shedding during the days of Muharram-Ul-Haram because Sukkur and Khairpur districts were sensitive adding that, the CCTV cameras installed for monitoring of the movement of people could be affected due to load shedding and can cause disturbance in maintaining peace. He said that this time there more apprehensions due to which load shedding of electricity supply should be avoided especially there should be no load shedding between 6.00PM late evening to 2.00AM night.Commissioner Sukkur further asked the district administration and SEPCO officials for making watts-up group to contact with each other so that the problems and complaints if any could be resolved rapidly. He directed that load shedding may not be carried out two days before the start of Muharram while survey also be got carried out of the venue of Majalis and routes of Muharram procession while standby transformers may be kept so that no any crisis of electricity could create or cause any mismanagement.CEO SEPCO Abdul Latif Anjum told the meeting that special directives have been received from the government about non-observance of power load shedding during processions and Majalis of Muharram-Ul-Haram and to resolve such problems in this regard on priority basis. He said that the SEPCO teams would be formed who would note the timings of Majalis and Muharram processions during such timings the electricity load shedding would be avoided. He assured that the district and taluka administrations would be extended coordination and contact in connection with Muharram-Ul-Haram. 02
