Death toll reaches 44 as another dengue patient dies at Peshawar

Report  Web Desk : PESHAWAR: The mosquito borne disease dengue fever continues to hound in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while taking one more live of 55 year old Niaz Ali in provincial capital raising the death toll to 44. Niaz Ali s/o Khush Mir succumbed to dengue fever here at Khyber Teaching Hospital after 15 days to hospitalization, said Dengue Response Unit of Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was admitted at Khyber Teaching hospital on September 20. The deceased was dweller of Tehkal Payan, a main area of dengue concentration. On Thursday, October 5, around 1573 dengue tests were conducted out of which 390 were found positive to the disease. A total of 100 patients were admitted in various hospitals for treatment raising the total number of dengue patients presently getting treatment in different hospitals to 305. About 91 patients were discharged during the last 24 hours from different hospitals after their condition was told stable. 02
