District administration Badin fails to control prices during Ramadan

Report  Tanweer Ahmed Arain : BADIN: The prices of essential commodities and goods have become out of control and unaffordable for the common people during holy month of Ramzan ul Mubarak while district administration, the price controlling authority and other departments have failed to control the price hikes of essential goods. The grocers have doubled the price of general items like grains, pulses, rice, sugar and vegetables, meat, fish, chicken and fruit. The survey revealed that the grocers of Badin who were selling bananas at Rs. 50 before holy month of Ramzan currently are selling at the rate of Rs.100, meanwhile one kilogram of the mango which was sold out at the rate of Rs. 60 earlier but now it is being sold at the price of Rs.120. At the same time, the chicken was earlier sold at the rate of Rs, 220 now it is being sold on rate of Rs. 240 to common people, simultaneously the rates of all common goods increased double in the day after commence of the holy month. People from different walks of life on Monday resented over the unprecedented rise in price of common essential commodities and goods in holy month of Ramzan at Badin district. They maintained that people are already suffering greatly due to the increasing of unemployment, poverty and dearness. 02
