Report  Bisma Waseem : Sukkur: Fire fighting staff of Municipal Department Sukkur on Monday observed strike and held protest against non-payment of overtime allowance of last forty months. According to details, the fire fighting staffs of Sukkur Municipal Corporation parked their vehicles in front of fire brigade city station Sukkur, observed strike and held protest under leadership of Ali Mardan Shaikh, Saeed Mahar, Haji Islam Shaikh and others against nonpayment of overtime allowance since forty months.They on the occasion raised slogans and told the media that fire fighting staffs remain on their duties for 24 hours adding that fire fighting staff could be seen even on Eid holidays to meet any emergency of fire incident but despite that they were not being paid the overtime allowance due to which situation like unrest prevailing among the employees. They said that despite limited resources they put their lives in danger for the safety and protection of the lives of peoples and their properties but depriving the employees of necessary facilities and allowances from municipal authorities was quite injustice. They demanded of Sindh Chief Minister, Mayor Sukkur, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Municipal Commissioner Sukkur as well as other concerned higher authorities that they may be paid overtime allowance immediately otherwise they would be compelled to continue thier strike. 02
