Report  Bisma Waseem : Sukkur: Sukkur IBA in collaboration with NAVTTC, Islamabad through its Regional Office, Sindh organized a “National Skills Competition at Sukkur IBA” on 17th July 2017. In this Skills Competition, about 116 trainees of different TVET Institutes of Sukkur, Khairpur and Larkana participated and exhibited their Skills. The trades selected for this competition were Welding, Beautician, Tailoring & Dress Making / Fashion Designing, General Electrician, Graphic Designing, Auto-CAD, AC & Refrigeration, LTV-Driving, HTV / HMO etc. On the occasion, Mr.Abdul Rahim Shaikh, DG NAVTTC Sindh, Chief Guest of the Ceremony and along with Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, VC Sukkur IBA University,Mr. Imtiaz Yousuf Director NAVTTC HQ Islamabad attended the event. During their speech, Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui welcomed the esteem guests. He also highlighted the importance of skills and its need in our emerging economy. He encouraged all the participants to take benefits of this training to establish own business and help solving our problems. Mr. Abdul Rahim Shaikh, during his speech appreciated the management of Sukkur IBA for facilitating this mega regional event on skill building. He also highlighted that these hard skills are essential for generating employment in economy and catering needs of these trades. He further added, in recent dialogue with representatives from Gulf Countries showed enormous need of skilled human resource in these states to fill job vacancies. Mr. Abdur Rahim Director General NAVTTC Sindh, Mr. Imtiaz Yousuf, Director NAVTTC distributed cash prizes of Rs. 25,000/-, Rs. 20,000/- and Rs. 15,000/- among the 1st 2nd and 3rd position holders of each trade. 02
