KP opposition flays illegal appointments and nepotism

Report  Web Desk : PESHAWAR: Joint opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Wednesday criticized illegal appointment and nepotism allotment of flats by health department in different districts and demanded inquiry into the matter. In her four questions Najma Shaheen of JUI-F sought reply in illegal appointments of different cadre in district Kohat. She expressed dissatisfaction from the replies given by the department in response to her queries. Responding the questions, the Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai assured that he will arrange a meeting with the mover to discuss the matter. Another JUI-F legislator Uzma Khan questioned the drawing of salaries by the employees of incomplete Nowshera Medical College adding that the college is even not recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The Minister for Health assured that the building will be completed soon adding that the appointments of staff and purchase of equipments were essential for recognition by PMDC. Therefore, he said that the appointments made by the government are justified. Another question of Uzma Khan regarding illegalities in the allotment of flats by the health department in District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Timergara, Dir Lower was referred to the committee concern. However, the mover was still dissatisfied with the reply that a larger committee has been constituted for the allotment of 16 bungalows, 22 quarters and 12 flats. Parliamentary Leader of PML-N, Sardar Aurengzed Nalotha in his question said that National Testing Service (NTS) was conducted for the vacant posts of Computer Operators (BPS-12) in Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad, but instead of the topers the department selected those who have obtained low marks in NTS. Responding the question, Minister for Education Atif Khan while speaking on behalf of the Minister Health said that the candidate have been appointed on aggregate marks not merely through NTS. 02
