Pakistan records four covid-19 deaths, 270 cases in single day

ISLAMABAD: 21, DECEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has jumped to 1,291,737 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 270 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.63 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 479,481 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 444,267, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,023, in Balochistan 33,587 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 108,308, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,429 while 34,642 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,882 deaths so far, after four fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,059 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,654 in Sindh, 5,911 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 363 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 964 deaths and AJK recorded 745 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 22,907,243, corona tests and 42,506 in last 24 hours and 1,253,298 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 466,140 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 428,480 in Punjab, 174,403 in KP, 33,154 in Balochistan, 107,045 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,229 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,847 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 743 patients are in critical condition.
