Pakistan reports 7,539 covid infections with 25 fatalities in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 27, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has climbed 1,393,887 on Thursday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 7,539 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 11.91 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 533,496 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 469,540, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 187,983, in Balochistan 34,131 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 122,098, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,557 while 36,082 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 29,162 deaths so far, after 25 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,126 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,765 in Sindh, 5,986 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 187 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 979 deaths and AJK recorded 752 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 24,754,277, corona tests and 63,272 in last 24 hours and 1,272,871 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 476,473 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 432,903 in Punjab, 176,121 in KP, 33,315 in Balochistan, 109,760 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,251 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 34,048 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,240 patients are in critical condition.
