Peasants and growers are seen protesting against shortage of water

Report  Tanweer Ahmed Arain : BADIN: A large number of the local growers in Pangrio town of Badin were protested against severe water shortage in the different outlets of the areas of the town by staging a sit-in at Pangrio on Wednesday. The protesting growers were chanted huge slogans against artificial water shortage in the different outlets of Pangrio town like Shadi Small Wah for the past many months. Addressing the protesters, representatives of growers including Chaudhary Aslam Kambho, Raza Khoso, Haji Muhammad Kambho, Muhammad Hanif, Lakha Dino Umrani and others who led the protest of the growers in town deplored that irrigation officials were creating an artificial shortage of the water in the different outlets of the Pangrio towns. The protesters demanded for the immediate removal of the Engineer Akram Wah, ensure the water reach at tail end and end the water-rotation at Akram Wah. They also maintained that artificial water shortage had adversely affected timely cultivation of the crops in their area and demanded high-ups to take notice of their protest, else they would expand it. 02
