The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad today

Islamabad: 9 April 2024: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad today to look for the Shawwal moon. They will decide if Eidul Fitr, which marks the end of Ramazan, will be on Wednesday or Thursday. The committee will meet at the roof of the Federal Secretariat’s Kohsar Block in Islamabad.
Other Ruet-i-Hilal committees will also meet at their respective headquarters at the same time. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will chair the meeting, which will include members of the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Suparco, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Many countries will celebrate Eidul Fitr on Wednesday after not spotting the crescent moon on Monday. Pakistan will also celebrate Eid with them if the committee sees the new moon today.
