World Teachers Day Celebrated at Sukkur

Report  Bisma Waseem : Sukkur: The World Teachers Day was celebrated in Sukkur today to pay tribute and highlight the importance of teachers in a society. Events and protests are being held at different Schools, Colleges and Universities of Sukkur. The students of All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) School Sukkur arranged a ceremony in the honor of their teachers and paid a warm tribute to the teachers. The students gave decorated cards and gifts to their teachers and made beautiful paintings for their favorite teachers to thank them for their outstanding services. Shah Abdul Latif University Teacher’s Association (SALUTA) held a ceremony under theme “Teaching in Freedom Empowering Teachers” on Thursday in honor of its faculty to mark the World Teachers Day. Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, President SALUTA said that the Teachers Day is the remembrance for us to unite against the illiteracy, darkness and firmly stand for the respect and reverence of teachers in the society. Prof. Dr. Ikhtiar Ali Ghumro said that teachers are the beacon of light and asset of the nation. Teachers are the model for their students. He said, the academic institutions development in term of education and research solely depends on the contribution of teachers. It is high time that we must maintain the character building and personality development of the students and must keep vigilance on their attitude to avoid from unhealthy activities and extreme mindset. He remarked that the development of developed world is on account of education and teacher. Later, the event was followed by walk to commemorate the struggle of teachers. 02
