1,649 more corona cases reported in Pakistan, positivity rate stands at 3.66pc

ISLAMABAD: 10, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has reached 1,305,707 on Monday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 1,649 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 3.66 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 487,668 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 448,091, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,757, in Balochistan 33,659 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 109,396, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,432 while 34,704 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,972 deaths so far, after three death was reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,080 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,681 in Sindh, 5,943 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 367 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 967 deaths and AJK recorded 748 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,847,572, corona tests and 45,002 in last 24 hours and 1,258,987 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 468,826 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 429,864 in Punjab, 175,208 in KP, 33,257 in Balochistan, 107,669 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,243 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,920 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 617 patients are in critical condition.
