40 more succumb to Covid-19 in Pakistan, 3,449 new cases reported

ISLAMABAD: 19, MARCH, 2021: The number of coronavirus infections has climbed to 619,259 on Friday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 3,449 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 27,188.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 262,503 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 193,054, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 77,972, in Balochistan 19,290 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 50,096, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,967 while 11,377 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 13,757 deaths so far, after 40 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 5,919 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,473 in Sindh, 2,196 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 202 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 536 deaths and AJK recorded 328 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 9,691,087 corona tests and 42,845 in last 24 hours and 578,314 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 253,310 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 174,566 in Punjab, 71,518 in KP, 18,910 in Balochistan, 44,976 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,856 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 10,178 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,064 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
