4th death anniversary of famous novelist and playwright Bano Qudsia today

LAHORE: 04, FEBRUARY, 2021: 4th death anniversary of famous novelist and playwright, Bano Qudsia is being observed today (Thursday).
The renowned novelist, Bano Qudsia was born on November 28th 1928 in Indian city of Firozpur, India. After migrating to Lahore, post-partition, she got engrossed in the art of writing short stories at a considerably small age.
She completed her master degree from Punjab University (PU). She was wife of Pakistan’s finest writers Ashfaq Ahmed.
Qudsia Bano bestow with Kamal-e-Fun Award in 2010 by Pakistan Academy of Letters. She wrote novel ‘Raja Gidh’ in Urdu which was the best novel of her. Qudsia Bano wrote books, Moom Ki Galiyan, Perwah, Dosra Darwaza, Hijratoun kay Darmiyan, Shehar-e-Lazwal, Ek din.
Qudsia’s most treasured works include ‘Na Kabilay Zikar’, ‘Bazgasht’, ‘Amar Bail’ and ‘Dast Basta’.
Bano was honored with Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 1983, for her paramount contributions in the world of Pakistani literature.
She died on February 4th 2017 in Lahore, at the age of 88. (04)
