5 lives lost, 20 seriously hurt in Nooriabad road accident

KARACHI: 29, SEPTEMBER, 2021: At least five persons lost their lives while 20 others were critically wounded in a collision between a bus and trailer in Nooriabad in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to details, the road crash took place at the Super Highway in Nooriabad area near Karachi where a passenger bus collided with a trailer, resulting five persons including father and son died on the spot and 20 others were seriously injured.

After being informed, rescue workers rushed at the location and moved the dead and injured to LUMHS Hospital where the condition of several passengers is critical.

Later, the dead bodies were handed over to kin after completing medico-legal formalities. Some injured people were shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad, sources said.

The ill-fated bus was going to Khairpur from Karachi.

According to rescue sources, the deceased were identified as 25-year-old Syed Bilal Ali and his father 55-year-old Hassan Abbas son of Ashfaq Hussain, Sohail Abbas son of Abdul Majeed, Syed Shabbi Abbas son of Jaffar Abbas and Dilshad son of Gul Muhammad while Faraz, Muhammad Haider, Ali Baqir, Zeeshan Kazmi, Ahsan Ali, Azhan Ali, Beenish, Fatima, Riffat, Firdous, Aleena, Jarya Abbas, Ali Haider, Irfan Shah, Tooba Batool, Jarar Ali and others were injured in the accident.

Earlier, on September 8, at least two persons were dead in a collision between two vehicles in Karachi on late Tuesday night.

According to details, the road crash happened near Paracha Chowk in Sher Shah area where a motorbike was hit by another vehicle, as a result, two persons died on the spot.

On receiving information about the incident, rescue teams reached the spot and moved the dead bodies to Civil Hospital. (04)
