67 more succumb to coronavirus in Pakistan, pushing death toll to 26,787


ISLAMABAD: 13, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,207,508 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 2,988 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 5.62 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 445,369 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 414,390, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 168,748 in Balochistan 32,591 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 102,863, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,168 while 33,379 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 26,787 deaths so far, after 67 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,211 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,133 in Sindh, 5,250 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 179 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 342 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 887 deaths and AJK recorded 718 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 18,521,728, corona tests and 53,158 in last 24 hours and 1,090,176 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 388,496 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 375,878 in Punjab, 155,408 in KP, 31,913 in Balochistan, 97,758 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,685 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 31,038 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 5,066 patients are in critical condition across the country.
