75 more succumb to Covid-19 in Pakistan, 2,829 cases recorded in single day

ISLAMABAD: 02, DECEMBER, 2020: The number of coronavirus cases in the country has mounted to 403,311 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 2,829 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 49,780.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 175,642 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 120,356, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 47,701, in Balochistan 17,215 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 30,748, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,667 while 6,982 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 8,166 deaths so far, after 75 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 3,066 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,962 in Sindh, 1,375 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 97 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 169 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 324 deaths and AJK recorded 173 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 5,584,976 corona tests and 35,197 in last 24 hours and 345,365 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 153642 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 98825 in Punjab, 42130 in KP, 16466 in Balochistan, 24546 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4393 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 5363 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,244 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
