83rd birth anniversary of Chocolate Hero Waheed Murad being observed today

KARACHI: 02, OCTOBER, 2021: 83rd birth anniversary of versatile film actor, producer and script writer Waheed Murad is being observed today (Saturday). 

He was born on October 2, 1938 in Sialkot, Waheed Murad, was also known as Chocolate Hero.  

Murad graduated from the S.M. Arts College Karachi, and then did his masters in English literature from Karachi University. 

He started his film career in 1959 in the film Saathi when he was 21 years old.

One of his popular films, Armaan, which was produced by him, was a great success, and the first one in the country, which won the status of platinum jubilee. 

He played in 125 feature films and got 32 film awards. 

In Nov 2010? 27 years after his death? he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for distinguished contributions in the fields of literature and arts. 

Waheed Murad died on November 23? 1983 in Karachi. (04)
