98 more succumb to Covid-19 in Pakistan, pushing death toll to 26,330

ISLAMABAD: 07, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 1,186,234 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 3,316 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 6.33 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 439,119 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 405,005, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 165,512, in Balochistan 32,411 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 101,249, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,065 while 32,873 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). 

In addition, the country has recorded 26,330 deaths so far, after 98 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours. 

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,096 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 6,995 in Sindh, 5,130 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 178 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 342 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 877 deaths and AJK recorded 712 deaths. 

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 18,162,771, corona tests and 52,314 in last 24 hours and 1,067,589 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 383,455 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 366,431 in Punjab, 152,401 in KP, 31,665 in Balochistan, 94,133 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,545 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 29,959 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 5,478 patients are in critical condition across the country.
