Abbottabad records highest positivity ratio: NCOC

ISLAMABAD: 28, DECEMBER, 2020: Abbottabad recorded the highest positivity ratio of COVID-19 at 15.95 percent in the past 24 hours, followed by Karachi with 14.81 and Hyderabad 14.47 percent, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) reported on Monday.
According to details, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) registered the highest coronavirus positivity ratio at 12.54, followed by Sindh 8.61 percent, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 5.94 percent, Punjab 4.06 percent, Balochistan 2.71 percent while Gilgit Baltistan (GB) was zero percent as no new coronavirus case was reported.
The number of coronavirus infections has climbed to 473,309 on Monday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 1,974 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 39,488.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 211,276 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 136,147, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 57,467, in Balochistan 18,082 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 37,272, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,850 while 8,215 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 9,929 deaths so far, after 55 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 3,921 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 3,491 in Sindh, 1,609 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 182 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 407 deaths and AJK recorded 218 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 6,589,317 corona tests and 32,205 in last 24 hours and 423,892 patients have recovered whereas 2,263 patients are in a critical condition across the country. (04)
