Another doctor loses battle against Covid-19 in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: 16, JANUARY, 2021: Another doctor has succumbed to the novel coronavirus in Islamabad at the PIMS Hospital on Friday night.
According to details, Deputy Director of the PIMS Hospital Emergency Ward, Dr Manzoor, was on ventilator for the past one month where he died due to coronavirus.
The number of coronavirus infections has jumped to 516,770 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 2,432 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 33,763.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 233,396 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 148,488, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 62,996, in Balochistan 18,537 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 39,888, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,882 while 8,583 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 10,908 deaths so far, after 45 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 4,387 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 3,769 in Sindh, 1,773 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 190 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 450 deaths and AJK recorded 238 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 7,326,431 corona tests and 42,422 in last 24 hours and 472,099 patients have recovered across Pakistan whereas 2,334 patients are in a critical condition across the country. (04)
