Assets case: Ex-IGP Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali granted interim bail

KARACHI: 18, NOVEMBER, 2021: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted the interim bail to ex-Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Hyder Jamali for 10 days, in assets beyond known sources of income reference.
According to sources, the high court heard the interim bail petition of Sindh's ex-top police personnel Ghulam Hyder Jamali and granted the interim bail to him in assets case, the SHC asked the applicant to contact NAB court in the future.
Apart from assets inquiry luanched by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Jamali is also facing NAB reference of abusing powers and alleged embezzlement in funds of the department, while being the Sindh IGP.
NAB had filed a reference in 2017 against former IGP Jamali, others for alleged illegal appointments by misusing their authority in the Sindh Reserve Police (SRP) in Hyderabad during 2013-14, causing a loss of Rs500m to the national exchequer. (04)
