LONDON: 06, FEBRUARY, 2021: Bahrain will introduce tougher restrictions to control the coronavirus spread from Sunday after an increase in active infections of the deadly virus, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Saturday.

According to the new restrictions, government firms and institutions will allow a maximum of 70 percent of employees to work from home whereas indoor gyms, sports halls, indoor exrecise classes and swimming pools will be temporarily closed while a maximum of 30 people will be allowed to participate in outdoor exercise organised by gyms.

The new stricter measures will remain in force until February 21.

All social gatherings or private events of over 30 people held at home and in private locations will also be banned.

The number of coronavirus cases has reached 106,198 while the death toll from the novel virus has jumped to 377 whereas 100,363 patients have been recuperated. (04)
