The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has crossed 79 million (79,057,185), according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 1,737,748 lives worldwide so far and 55,648,447 patients have been recuperated.
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 18,917,152 and the total number of deaths has reached 334,218.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 10,123,778 cases with 146,778 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 7,366,677 patients and 189,264 deaths.
In Russia, 2,933,753 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 52,461.
South Africa, the fifth highest number of infections in the world, after the US, Brazil, India and Russia. The death toll from Coronavirus in South Africa has risen nearly 25,650, with 954,258 people affected.
In UK, the virus infections reached 2,149,551 and death toll rose to 69,051.

According to a foreign news agency, COVID-19 has been declared more dangerous in the United States on the eve of Christmas. American scientist Dr. Anthony Fauchi has warned Americans that the corona virus could be more dangerous because of Christmas.
The American scientist said that the new year will be a challenge for the United States because after Christmas, the novel virus could take a dangerous turn.
