WASHINGTON: 31, OCTOBER, 2020: The countries all over the world are experiencing continuous spike in COVID-19 related cases and deaths despite strict restrictions and lockdowns.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has crossed 49 million (49,031,012), according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 1,239,608 lives worldwide so far and 34,983,279 patients have been recuperated.
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 9,919,522 and the total number of deaths has reached 240,953.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 8,411,724 cases with 125,029 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 5,614,258 patients and 161,779 deaths.
In Russia, 1,712,858 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 29,509.
South Africa, the fifth highest number of infections in the world, after the US, Brazil, India and Russia. The death toll from Coronavirus in South Africa has risen nearly 19,675, with 732,414 people affected.
In Peru, the death tally has jumped to 34,730, with 914,722 infections.
On the other hand, Mexico reported 949,197 cases so far with 93,772 fatalities.
The coronavirus has infected more than 516,582 people in Chile and left 14,404 dead.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 1,365,895 with 38,486 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 1,123,197 and death toll rose to 48,120.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 654,936 and 36,985 have been died. (04)
