COVID-19 kills 33 more people in Pakistan, infects 1,270 in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 12, FEBRUARY, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has surged 560,363 on Friday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 1,270 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 29,981.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 252,719 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 162,875, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 69,164, in Balochistan 18,916 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 42,401, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,929 while 9,359 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 12,218 deaths so far, after 33 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 4,994 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,183 in Sindh, 1,980 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 197 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 483 deaths and AJK recorded 279 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 8,360,823 corona tests and 35,280 in last 24 hours and 518,164 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 229,645 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 150,638 in Punjab, 65,213 in KP, 18,629 in Balochistan, 40,599 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,803 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 8,637 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,743 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
