COVID-19: Death toll crosses 1,835,380 worldwide, cases touch 84 million

WASHINGTON: 02, JANUARY, 2021: The countries all over the world are facing continuous spike in COVID-19 related cases and deaths, despite the strict restrictions.
The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has crossed 84 million (84,382,592), according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 1,835,389 lives worldwide so far and 59,641,536 patients have been recuperated.
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 20,617,346 and the total number of deaths has reached 356,445.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 10,305,788 cases with 149,218 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 7,700,578 patients and 195,441 deaths.
In Russia, 3,186,336 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 57,555.
South Africa, the fifth highest number of infections in the world, after the US, Brazil, India and Russia. The death toll from Coronavirus in South Africa has risen nearly 28,880, with 1,073,887 people affected.
On the other hand, Mexico reported 1,437,185 cases so far with 126,507 fatalities.
The coronavirus has infected more than 2,639,770 people in France and left 64,765 dead.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 1,936,718 with 50,837 deaths.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 1,231,429 and 55,337 have been died.
Turkey reported 2,220,855 cases so far while death toll jumped to 21,093.
The total figure of fatalities due to coronavirus reached 74,621 in Italy while 2,129,376 infections recorded.
Germany registered 1,762,504 patients with 34,388 deaths.
The number of cases in Colombia surged 1,654,880 and death toll crossed 43,490.
Argentina recorded 1,629,594 COVID-19 cases with 43,319 fatalities so far.
