Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain being observed today across country

ISLAMABAD: 27, SEPTEMBER, 2021: Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and companions martyred in Karbala tragedy is being observed today (Tuesday) with religious zeal, fervour and enthusiasm across the country.

According to details, the Chelum of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions is being obsrved with religious spirit? devotion and respect.

Security and other necessary arrangements have been made to provide ease to processions and to avoid untoward incident.

The Chehlum observance takes place 40 days after the Day of Ashura, and commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions by Yazidi forces in the Battle of Karbala in 61 A.H.

Millions of mourners will pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala including Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Islam and to give eternal lease of life to the high values of humanity.

Processions will be taken out and congregations will also be held in every major city of the country to remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA). 

Muharram stands as a reminder to mankind for the heroic struggle and martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), against the corruption and destruction of human rights by a tyrant ruler. (04)
