Christian community celebrating Christmas across Pakistan

LAHORE: 25, DECEMBER, 2021: Like elsewhere in the world, Christian community of Pakistan is celebrating Christmas today (Saturday).
Special ceremonies are being held in churches across the country in which prayers will also be held for "peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan".
On the occasion, in their separate messages, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the Christian community on the occasion and assured that the government will continue to safeguard rights and privileges of all minorities living in the country.
They also commended sincere and invaluable services rendered by Christian community in the fields of defense, education, health as well as economic development of the country.
They said that the government will empower the minorities to use their abilities for national development.
President Arif Alvi said "On this auspicious occasion of Christmas, I extend my heartiest felicitations and wish Merry Christmas to our Christian brethren in Pakistan and all over the world."
In a tweet from his official account, the prime minister wished "all our Christian citizens a very Happy Christmas".
On the other hand, CJCSC and Services Chiefs extend felicitations to Christian community in Armed Forces and across Pakistan on Christmas.
Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR), in a tweet, said that from the creation of Pakistan to date their sacrifices and contributions in service of Pakistan are phenomenal. (04)
