ISLAMABAD: 08.10.2025: Coalition tensions deepened as Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman warned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) not to take PPP’s Senate support for granted, hinting at instability if ties worsen.
The row followed criticism from Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz and disputes over flood aid and water rights.
Sherry Rehman said that the alliance is being strained by personal attacks on PPP leaders and accused PML-N of undermining unity. Meanwhile, PPP Senator Palwasha Khan said that Maryam would “need Bilawal and Zardari again,” slamming her for prioritizing image over performance.
Maryam defended her Punjab focus, while PTI’s Asad Qaiser offered to back a no-confidence motion if PPP is serious. PML-N’s Azma Bokhari hit back, accusing PPP of hypocrisy and lacking democratic maturity.
