Commissioner Hyd presides meeting over preventive measures for XDR Typhoid

HYDERABAD: 16 October, 2018: The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Mohammad Abbas Baloch presided over an important meeting regarding taking preventive measures for XDR Typhoid at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad.

The meeting was attended by Director General Health Dr. Mubeen, MD WASA, Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Director Environmental Protection Agency, DHO Hyderabad, representatives of WHO and USAID mission.

The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad directed to all concerned authorities that public health is very important issue and we are in a state of emergency so all departments specially health and WASA should actively work to overcome XDR Typhoid.

The Director General Health Dr. Mubeen briefed to Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad that fourteen cases of Typhoid had been reported from two talukas of Hyderabad, Qasimabad and Latifabad .

He added that typhoid spread from contaminated water so health department started water testing through PCR method, we also initiated immunization and vaccination in collaboration with Agha Khan Hospital, he added.

The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad said that all concerned departments launch a public awareness campaign by using media.

The Director General Health Dr. Mubeen advised to Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad to involve education department and local NGOs in awareness campaign in schools and colleges. 01
