Corona infects 665 more people, death toll reaches 6,393

ISLAMABAD: 16, SEPTEMBER, 2020: The number of coronavirus cases in the country has surged to 303,089 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 665 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 132,591 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 97,946, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 37,140, in Balochistan 13,690 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 15,984, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 3,297, while 2,441 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 6,393 deaths so far, after four fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,448 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2,220 in Punjab, 1,257 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 145 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 178 deaths and AJK recorded 66 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 3,024,987 corona tests and 29,097 in last 24 hours and 290,760 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 127727 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 94693 in Punjab, 35181 in KP, 12658 in Balochistan, 15430 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 2859 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 2212 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 571 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
