ISLAMABAD: 01, MARCH, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 581,365 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database, 1,392 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 22,098.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 258,266 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 172,054, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 72,424, in Balochistan 19,049 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 44,373, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,956 while 10,243 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 12,896 deaths so far, after 36 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 5,363 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,350 in Sindh, 2,079 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 200 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 501 deaths and AJK recorded 301 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 8,990,176 corona tests and 38,338 in last 24 hours and 546,371 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 241,864 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 161,469 in Punjab, 68,128 in KP, 18,754 in Balochistan, 42,085 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,843 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 9,228 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,568 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
