Coronavirus claims another 56 lives in Pakistan, infects 1,411 in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 01, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has mounted to 1,246,538 on Friday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,411 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.87 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 457,928 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 431,666, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 174,017 in Balochistan 32,926 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,516, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,328 while 34,157 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,785 deaths so far, after 56 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,637 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,407 in Sindh, 5,547 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 348 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 924 deaths and AJK recorded 738 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,435,155, corona tests and 49,049 in last 24 hours and 1,170,590 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 427,716 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 401,521 in Punjab, 163,908 in KP, 32,408 in Balochistan, 102,293 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,931 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,813 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan. (04)
