Coronavirus claims another 9 lives in Pakistan, infects 698 more

ISLAMABAD: 25, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,269,234 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 698 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.65 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 467,814 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 439,171, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 177,519, in Balochistan 33,196 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,710, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,383 while 34,441 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,386 deaths so far, after 9 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,896 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,551 in Sindh, 5,720 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 355 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 938 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,530,153, corona tests and 42,095 in last 24 hours and 1,216,908 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 447,615 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 418,252 in Punjab, 169,190 in KP, 32,740 in Balochistan, 105,374 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,124 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,613 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,524 patients are in critical condition.
