ISLAMABAD: 10, MARCH, 2022: Covid-19 infections tally in the country has reached 1,516,789 on Thursday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 639 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.76 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 570,934 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 503,279, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 217,690, in Balochistan 35,403 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,736, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,598 while 43,149 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,291 deaths so far, after 4 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,535 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,085 in Sindh, 6,294 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 377 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,019 deaths and AJK recorded 788 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,785,763 corona tests and 36,241 in last 24 hours and 1,468,449 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 551,242 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 486,428 in Punjab, 209,033 in KP, 34,972 in Balochistan, 133,357 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,240 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,177 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 707 patients are in critical condition.
