Country s development possible with university-industry collaboration, says President Dr Arif Alvi

JAMSHORO: 01, DECEMBER, 2021: (Report By: Ali Murad Chandio): President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has said that there will be no development in the country without bridging the gap between universities and industries while the government and society should also be taken on board.
He said that the role of youth was very important for the progress of Pakistan and the well-being of the people; therefore, they would be given more educational opportunities to help them complete their higher education.
This he said while addressing through video link at a ceremony organized in Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of Sindh, Jamshoro to seek ideas from the students for the solution of different problems and challenges posed to the country here on Tuesday.
The president linked the sustainable development of the country with universities-industries collaborations and emphasized that such an event could be important for solving the problems at local level in Pakistan adding that the students enrolled at different institutions including the University of Sindh were being awarded scholarships so that they might seek higher education hassle-free.
The founder of National Idea Bank (NIB) Hassan Syed urged the youths to improve their careers by joining the Technology Incubation Center working at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Sindh.
He said that it was all a matter of business ideas for success in the world and much money could be earned by presenting successful business ideas on various issues.
Vice-Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) Javed Anwar welcomed all the youth present at the event and appreciated their ideas.
He said that students could play a key role for the development and progress of Pakistan.
Director Hyderabad Institute of Arts, Science and Technology (HIAST) Col. (Rtd) Muhammad Khalid said that he was proud to be a part of the program, because he got an opportunity to know the ideas given by the youth.
“I am impressed by the ideas. I can now say that there is no dearth of talent at SU”, he said and added that such activities were significant to bring the biggest change in the society.
Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Khombati said that the activity organized by the Technology Incubation Center was vital for the students, where innovative ideas can be expressed, shared and solutions to the challenging problems could be explained.
Dr. Arifa Bhutto shared details about the practices and achievements of National Idea Bank Hyderabad. “We have more than 14,000 registered students,” he said and said that TIC will prepare more students for the challenges being faced by the country in terms of unemployment and joblessness.
Earlier, a competition was held for the students to present business ideas for the solution of various problems, in which the students offered the best ideas for the solution of the tribulations. The top three students were awarded cash prizes.
Ideologist Program Manager Shahzana Memon. Dr. Kamran Taj Pathan and many others were present on the occasion. At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were distributed among the young people who presented successful business ideas.
The event was attended by heads of various departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Teachers and students. (04)
